Vivo has officially launched the X500 Pro in China, positioning the device as a compact flagship. Measuring 6.36 inches, the device is designed for creators who prefer a smaller form factor without sacrificing the high-end video capabilities typically reserved for larger "Max" models.
A standout feature of the X500 Pro is its main sensor, the LYTIA 610, which was co-developed with Sony. By leveraging Sony's professional-grade sensor technology and industry-leading autofocus capabilities, the device aims to bridge the gap between mobile photography and professional cinematography.
For videographers, the hardware supports a robust feature set. The device is capable of recording 4K at 120fps in 10-bit Log, and it introduces native 4K 240fps slow motion. Additionally, Vivo claims that its revised Log mode can achieve 17EV of dynamic range, providing creators with significant flexibility during the color grading process.
From a creator-business perspective, the inclusion of 10-bit Log and high dynamic range in a compact device allows freelancers and social media producers to capture high-quality B-roll and cinematic sequences without needing to carry bulky cinema rigs. This trend toward "pro-sumer" mobile hardware continues to lower the barrier to entry for high-production-value content.
By integrating professional-grade Sony components into a portable chassis, Vivo is targeting a market of mobile-first creators who require precise control over their image and the ability to handle challenging lighting environments.
