Thypoch has announced the release of the Simera-C 100mm T1.9 Cine Lens, extending its Simera series beyond the previous longest focal length of 75mm. Designed specifically for character close-ups, reaction shots, and narrative details, the lens offers a tighter field of view ideal for intimate storytelling in both mirrorless and cinema-camera setups. The announcement was made via ProVideo Coalition on October 24, 2026.

The Simera-C 100mm T1.9 is now available in Sony E mount, making it a direct fit for popular Sony Alpha and FX series cameras widely used by independent creators and professional videographers. Sony’s professional-grade cameras are known for their advanced autofocus systems and high-resolution sensor technology, which pair well with cinema lenses requiring precise focus control and image clarity. This compatibility ensures seamless integration for creators already invested in the Sony ecosystem.

By offering a longer focal length at a fast T1.9 aperture, Thypoch addresses a growing demand among content creators for lenses that deliver cinematic depth of field without requiring bulky rigs. The lens supports compact mirrorless and cinema configurations, aligning with the trend toward lightweight, versatile gear for on-the-go production. While specific optical details were not disclosed in the announcement, the focus remains on character-focused rendering—prioritizing skin tones, facial expressions, and emotional nuance in visual storytelling.

The launch reflects Thypoch’s strategy to expand its cine lens lineup with purpose-built tools for narrative filmmakers. As creators increasingly seek lenses that balance performance, size, and mount compatibility, the Simera-C 100mm T1.9 positions itself as a niche option for Sony E users aiming to elevate close-up work. Further details on pricing, availability, and additional mounts are expected to follow from Thypoch in the coming weeks.
