Canon has partnered with toy manufacturer Bandai to launch a new line of miniature camera-themed gachapon figures, continuing their collaborative effort to blend photography culture with collectible toys. The announcement comes via PetaPixel, which reported on October 28, 2026, that the two companies are expanding their existing gachapon collection featuring scaled-down replicas of Canon cameras.

Gachapon, a popular form of capsule toy vending in Japan and increasingly worldwide, allows users to obtain random small figurines from sealed capsules. Canon’s involvement brings its well-known camera designs into this space, offering fans a playful way to engage with the brand beyond traditional photography gear. While specific models included in the latest release were not detailed in the source, past collaborations have featured iconic point-and-shoot and DSLR-style miniatures.

This initiative highlights Canon’s strategy of extending its brand presence into lifestyle and collector markets, leveraging the strong recognition of its lens ecosystem and camera lineup. By working with Bandai—a leader in character merchandising and toy production—Canon taps into a global audience interested in both photography and pop culture memorabilia.

The partnership underscores how imaging companies are exploring creative avenues to connect with younger demographics and enthusiasts who may not yet own professional equipment but appreciate the aesthetic and legacy of camera design. Such merchandise also serves as subtle brand reinforcement in everyday consumer spaces.

As of the report date, no pricing, release regions, or exact figure count were disclosed. However, the continued rollout suggests sustained interest in the collaboration, with potential for future waves featuring updated or special-edition miniature models based on Canon’s evolving product line. Fans are encouraged to follow official channels from either company for updates on availability.
