Runway Joins OpenAI Marketplace as Launch Partner

Runway has joined the OpenAI Marketplace as a launch partner, making its Runway Creative platform available to enterprise customers through OpenAI’s new procurement hub. Announced September 29, the listing lets eligible enterprise teams apply part of their existing OpenAI spending commitments toward Runway purchases instead of negotiating a separate contract.

Runway Creative bundles image, video, audio and editing models from multiple labs into one workspace. Alongside Runway’s own Gen-4.5 video model, the package includes ByteDance’s Seedance 2.5, GPT Image 2.5 and ElevenLabs’ v4 voice model, covering video, image and audio generation under a single roof. Teams can generate media from text, images or existing footage, edit footage by describing the change, or hand a brief to the Runway Agent and let it plan, generate and assemble a complete video through conversation.

The marketplace itself launched at OpenAI’s DevDay with 32 partners spanning creative software, customer experience, cybersecurity and legal AI, including Adobe, Figma, Salesforce, Notion and ElevenLabs. The pitch to enterprise buyers is consolidation: one commitment, one procurement path, many tools. For creative, marketing and production teams already spending with OpenAI, bringing Runway into the same budget removes a layer of administrative friction.

Runway says more than 60 million creators, filmmakers and marketing teams use its platform, including enterprise creative teams at companies such as Amazon, Robinhood, Dolce & Gabbana and Microsoft. Availability through the marketplace is currently limited to enterprise customers, so individual creators and small teams will not see immediate changes to how they buy Runway.

The takeaway for creators is indirect but real: when enterprise money flows more easily into AI creative tools, those tools get more development resources and the workflows they enable become client expectations faster. Freelancers who serve brand and agency clients should get comfortable with Runway’s agent-assisted workflows now, because the briefs asking for them are about to get more common.
