At InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas, Mavis unveiled a substantial update to Mavis Studio, its touch-first live production app for iPad. The app, which only launched a few months prior at NAB, is now receiving features that directly cater to mobile content creators.
The headline addition is an NDI Preview mode, offering users five minutes of full networked-video access before committing to a subscription. This trial period allows creators to test the app’s NDI integration for live production workflows on set or on the go.
The update also brings PTZ camera control and USB Audio support. PTZ control streamlines multi-camera setups directly from the iPad, a boon for streamers and event producers who need flexible, untethered operation. USB Audio integration further simplifies connectivity by enabling external microphones and audio interfaces.
By expanding its feature set at InfoComm, Mavis is positioning its iPad app as a more complete production tool. For content creators, these additions reduce the need for additional hardware while maintaining a portable, touch-driven interface. The NDI Preview mode, in particular, lowers the barrier for evaluating networked video on tablets, a growing need in live streaming and news gathering.
As the mobile production space grows, updates like this signal a shift toward versatile, software-defined control systems. Whether used for interviews, events, or quick-turnaround content, Mavis Studio’s latest version offers practical improvements that merit attention from any creator working in live environments.
