These cards are built around the FX5’s capability to record X-OCN RAW and high frame rate formats, which require sustained high-speed data throughput.

The AV PRO v4 line offers capacities ranging from 200GB to 1.6TB, providing creators with scalable storage options for extended shoots without frequent card changes. All models in the series carry VPG800 certification, guaranteeing a minimum sustained write speed of 800MB/s—critical for reliably capturing uncompressed RAW video at high resolutions and frame rates.

Rabitsch highlighted the growing storage challenges in professional video production, particularly as cameras like the Sony FX5 push data rates higher with advanced codecs and sensor technologies. The FX5’s stacked back-illuminated EXMOR R sensor and fast hybrid autofocus system enable detailed, responsive imaging, but only when paired with storage that can keep pace.
