TTArtisan has entered the ultra-compact autofocus lens market with a $99 offering that closely mirrors Viltrox’s groundbreaking 28mm “Chip” lens. Both lenses share nearly identical dimensions and pricing, positioning them as direct competitors in the growing niche of pocketable full-frame optics. The design similarity extends to the sliding front element mechanism, suggesting a shared approach to minimizing size without sacrificing autofocus functionality.

For content creators, this development signals more accessible options for lightweight, travel-friendly setups. A lens barely thicker than a body cap allows mirrorless cameras to maintain a low profile while still delivering autofocus performance—ideal for street photography, vlogging, and on-the-go shooting where discretion and portability matter.

The matching $99 price point removes cost as a deciding factor, shifting focus to real-world performance, build quality, and compatibility. Creators can now evaluate which brand delivers better optical consistency, focusing speed, and reliability in a form factor previously dominated by manual focus or larger autofocus alternatives.

As the market for minimalist gear expands, these tiny AF lenses represent a shift toward maximizing mobility without fully sacrificing convenience. TTArtisan’s entry not only validates Viltrox’s initial concept but also introduces healthy competition that could drive further innovation in compact lens design.

Creator Newsdesk will continue to monitor real-world testing and user feedback to help creators determine which lens best fits their workflow—especially when every millimeter and gram counts in the field.
