Spotify expanded its podcast Partner Program to 35 regions on September 17, 2026, adding Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Poland, Chile, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas this fall. The expansion is the streaming service’s largest geographical push for the program, which lets podcasters earn from ad and Premium revenue sharing on both video and audio shows.

Eligible podcasters earn two ways: video impressions by Premium users count toward revenue, and ad revenue share comes from free-tier listeners. Creators keep all revenue from sponsorships they sell themselves and can distribute shows on other platforms without penalty. Spotify said video podcast consumption has risen 140 percent since the feature launched in 2022, and total monthly payouts to shows are up a third since January.

The expansion builds on January 2026 threshold cuts that made the program genuinely accessible: creators now qualify with 3 published episodes, 2,000 consumption hours and 1,000 engaged audience members over 30 days, down from 12 episodes, 10,000 hours and 2,000 listeners. Spotify said the change lifted consumption in participating shows by an average of 45 percent. A new distribution API also lets creators on Acast, Audioboom, Libsyn, Omny and Podigee publish and monetize video on Spotify without switching hosts.

The takeaway for video podcasters is to claim the new markets early. Upload video versions through Spotify for Creators or the API, check eligibility in the newly added regions, and remember the revenue split: Spotify keeps 50 percent of ads it sells against the show, while host-read sponsorships stay entirely with the creator.
